Development that the Movement

Guiding started in mountain Sebastián in 1929, and also soon afterwards groups of Guides showed up elsewhere in the country, consisting of Zaragoza, Valencia and also Madrid. Activities were organised and also coordinated through the Asociación de ras Guías de España.

In Catalonia Guiding began in 1932, the Germanor de Noies Guides arising along comparable lines to the Asociación de ras Guías de España. Guide companies were quickly formed, adhered to by Brownie packs and a Ranger section.

From 1984 the CEGE was consisted of of two federations: the Federació Catalana d’Escoltisme i Guiatge, active in the Catalonian territory, and also which had 7,000 members (90%); and also the Federación Española de Guidismo, energetic in the remainder of the Spaniard Estate, and which had 700 number (10%). The CEGE aims to maintain mutual help and co-operation in between its 2 federations.
